OUT Wins Best Feature Film at East London LGBTQ+ Film Festival

This past weekend, the Dutch queer film OUT was screened at the East London LGBTQ+ Film Festival, where it won the award for Best Feature Film The festival, which focuses on independent LGBTQ+ films, offered a diverse program featuring both British and international productions that explored a wide range of queer stories.

OUT has already made a strong impact in a short time. After a successful premiere at the prestigious Frameline Festival in San Francisco and a theatrical release in the Netherlands in 2024, the film is now preparing for its cinema debut in countries such as Spain and Germany. In the United Kingdom, the film had its British premiere at the East London LGBTQ+ Film Festival, where it was awarded Best Feature Film.

The film follows the journey of Tom and Ajani, two young men who leave behind the limited life of a small Dutch village to pursue their dreams in the vibrant city of Amsterdam. In this city, known for its lively and diverse queer scene, they strive not only to realize their ambitions as filmmakers but also to find a community that accepts them for who they are. As they immerse themselves in the colorful queer scene of the city, they encounter both friendship and complex challenges, which forces them to reflect on identity, ambition, and the desire to find a place where they truly belong.
