About the Films

WOMAN OF…

Set against the backdrop of Poland’s transformation from communism to capitalism, WOMAN OF… spans 45 years in the life of Aniela Wesoly. For over half of her adult life, Aniela has lived as a man in a Polish provincial town. The journey to personal freedom as a trans woman reveals challenges in marriage and parenthood, strained family relationships, and complicated attitudes in her environment, constantly placing her in impossible situations. What choices will Aniela have to make? Will she be willing to sacrifice everything to become who she truly is?

I LOVE YOU MORE

After a year of deep, intimate online conversations, reserved Kosovar teenager Ben is about to fulfill his greatest dream: meeting Leo, his first love, who has remained a secret until now. With a heart full of passion and longing, Ben carefully plans every step of their meeting. He creates an ingenious cover for their long-awaited romantic encounter when Leo arrives from Germany in a month. In Ben’s world, where every detail matters, everything must be perfect. But just as everything seems to be going according to plan, an unexpected turn puts Ben in a dilemma.

LA BELLA ESTATE

Young Ginia has just moved from the countryside to Turin. Seeking adventure, she discovers the dazzling world of artists and begins an affair with a painter. Amelia, the model who introduces her to the bohemian districts, is sensual, free, and unlike anyone she has ever met. During her ‘beautiful summer,’ Ginia surrenders to her first great love, celebrating the courage to truly be herself.

LIUBEN

In a Bulgarian mountain village, where prejudices simmer, a summer romance begins between two boys from different worlds. Victor (27) has a good life in Madrid with his partner, Jose. He returns to his hometown in Bulgaria for his grandfather’s funeral and decides to stay for the summer. As he reconnects with his father and the village way of life, he unexpectedly finds love in Liuben, an 18-year-old Roma boy. Despite their differences and the conflicts around them, Victor and Liuben find solace in each other. Liuben is Bulgaria’s first openly LGBTQ+ film.

ALMAMULA

In the remote Santiago del Estero in northern Argentina, young Nino struggles with his identity and the homophobic attitude in his neighborhood. His parents, seeking a safer environment, decide to temporarily move the family to the countryside. There, far from urban unrest, Nino finds himself in the depths of a mysterious forest, reportedly haunted by the Almamula, a terrifying creature that punishes those who indulge in carnal sins.

HORSEPLAY

A group of young men gather at a luxury villa and test each other’s limits.
