01-07-2022
From July 1st, 2022, the European TV broadcaster OUTtv can be received via MagentaTV on channel 68 at Deutsche Telekom’s TV service, with a reach of more than four million German households. OUTtv is the first lifestyle TV channel for the LGBTQI+ community and for all open-minded people in Germany. The programming includes a large selection of queer arthouse films, documentaries, series and own productions (known as OUT originals).
“I am overjoyed and proud that we can launch OUTtv at Deutsche Telekom! After years of requests by German OUTtv viewers and fans, our queer lifestyle program will now become a permanent and colorful part of the German media landscape. Accessible for more than four million households via MagentaTV. Our content offer will keep expanding in the coming years in order to provide audiences with a comprehensive television experience. OUTtv has great line-up of new LGBTQI+ films, series and documentaries in its programming that you have to see. “ Founder & CEO- Marc Putman
Anyone who would like to become an OUTtv viewer but is not a customer at MagentaTV can watch OUTtv via NetCologne (channel 343), OUTtv Prime Video Channel or subscribe to OUTtv’s video-on-demand service “OUTtv Pro”. “OUTtv Pro” offers an even more extensive range of LGBTQI+ titles, making OUTtv Pro the largest queer content library in German-speaking Europe.
Viewers can expect highlights like Veneno, Where The Bears Are, Cherry Grove Stories, The General, Mario, Jump, Darling and OUT-Originals series such as Krista’s Road to Eurovision, The Niki Today Tonight Show, Pride Summerweek as well as popular TV series like The General, Drag Race Thailand, De Troon, WOKE, RuPaul’s Gay for Play, My Life is a Telenovela and Mixed Messages.
The Blu Mediengruppe connects brands with a wide variety of target groups in German-speaking countries. As the exclusive commercial partner, Blu will also work with brands and artists to create original programs for OUTtv.
The publisher of the Blu Mediengruppe, Olaf Alp, pointed out the importance of an independent LGBTQI+ media structure in this context. “Social media platforms regularly censor queer content, while mainstream media are only selectively interested in our main topics. An independent presence on all media channels is therefore essential for forming opinions in our community.”
OUTtv can be received on MagentaTV, channel number 68 (with standard channel package).
