14-06-2019
Tel Aviv, June 14th, 2019 After being successfully launched in various countries in Europe, the lifestyle TV-channel for the LGBTQI+ and open minded, OUTtv has launched PRIDEtv in Israel during a countdown celebration with Netta Barzilai last Thursday on the 13thof June during the Tel Aviv Pride week. During the launch event, LGBTQI+ representatives of all organizations were there together with politicians, influencers and celebrities.
The official countdown and launch were done by the Israeli winner of the Eurovision Song contest 2018 and media mogul and LGBT activist Gal Uchovsky together with the Founder and CEO of OUTtv, Marc Putman at the NYX Hotel in Tel Aviv. Netta’s enthusiasm and love for OUTtv shows her far-reaching commitment to the LGBTQI+ community. It is also the intention that Netta will become one of the hosts and faces of the channel together with her colleagues in Europe.
Celebrating its 11thanniversary this year, Israel becomes the ninth country, where the lifestyle channel PRIDEtv will be launched. PRIDEtv offers a broad variety of programming reflecting the diversity of its audience; arthouse films, hysterical series, award winning documentaries and compelling TV shows, such as RuPaul’s Drag Race, Fire Island,Finding Prince Charming and The Switch. PRIDEtv has selected Israel to premiere the very first OUT original documentary series: ‘Tommy in Lalaland’, starring Shangela, Coco Peru and Haaz Sleiman. Due to the broad variety of programming, PRIDEtv expects to attract a significant ‘straight’ oriented audience in Israel; about 35% of its European viewers are female.
‘OUTtv is proud to launch in Israel as it’s an important emerging tv-market. The Israeli society has developed so rapidly over the last decade in our eyes: embracing the gay community and very much integrated in the society. The presence of our tv-channel is a testament to that development. Our lifestyle is permanently visible now in the Israeli media landscape via HOT. The launch of PRIDEtv Israel as part of the Middle East is history in the making.’ Founder & CEO- Marc Putman.
